Kisses

Connor loves to give his Mommy kisses. Of course I love to kiss him too! He is so cute and sweet, who can resist?
XOXO To Connor from Mom

Sunday, March 25

On Sunday MB & K came back from Nashville, and they loved it. They also had gift for Connor, which they dubbed a "little person's glass". Connor took to it right away, obviously. On the bracket front, I went one for two, so I have three out of four still in it. If FL wins it all, I win my work pool, which is like $180, and which I won last year (with FL, obviously). So we'll see...

In other news, the cats like hanging out outdoors more and more. They're our little sentinels... as for the yard, those are some bald spots and I have no clue what happened, other than it's a new lawn. The landscaping guy is coming out next Thursday.

Weekend Update (Part I)!

This weekend the weather was just beautiful, so we got to spend some time outdoors, and I got the convertible out of "storage" (quotes because it's just over in the third stall, so all I do is take the car cover off it and attach the battery). I drove to Caledonia for some sight seeing, a visit to the bank, and watched some basketball at a restaurant on main street. All that while Jodi was working on the yard and playing with Connor. At night it was more basketball, then some more basketball after that. Both my teams won Saturday, so that's half of my Final Four.

Connor

Some photos of Connor, just because he is so darn cute. (He really is; I'm not just saying that because he's ours!) These were over the weekend as well.

Saturday, March 24

We had a house guest this weekend, and he was a pleasure as always. Here are some shots of "the boy" with "the boy". Anyone notice the rug??

Friday, March 23, 2007

With MB & Kristi in Nashville for a long weekend, we're taking care of the boy. Now, prior to Connor, the term 'the boy' always meant Oliver. Since Connor's arrival though, he's pretty much taken ownership of it. When I say 'the boy', people definitely think of Connor, not Ollie. It's been tough for Ollie, not being the center of attention, but he still enjoys his visits. And when Connor gets a little older, Ollie will be his first dog, which is nice.

GRCHS reunion

Without going into details, Joel and James were in town this week. It was a sad occasion, but it's always fun to get the band back together, as they say. And I finally got those two to come "all the way" out to the new digs and to see the boy. What a relief that is. This is us out on Tuesday night.

Sunday, March 18

A few photos from Sunday afternoon... earlier in the day we went shopping for area rugs for the living room, as the boy will be crawling soon. So we went to Home Depot and bought a rug we didn't really want, just because the price was right. Then on the way home I relented and we went all the way over to World Market where we did find a rug we liked (it was more expensive of course). So at home we set up the new rug, and in the end we decide it's just not big enough for the space. Then Jodi shows me a rug on sale in the Pottery Barn catalog we happen to have laying around the living room (where I was happily ensconsed on my sofa a short three hours earlier, before this whole shopping expedition). This one is even more money yet, but is 8'x10'. So that's the one we're getting, and I of course had two rugs to return on Monday. All that, and in the end we order from a Pottery Barn catalog... any lessons in this?? Something like "in the end I never even had to leave the house Sunday." Photo of new rug below.

Last Saturday

Well it's Tuesday, so that means we made it through the weekend. Saturday I watched 'Munich', which was excellent. Only trouble was it took me about six hours to get through it... three hours of the actual film, and another three or so for interruptions from Jodi and Connor (he took his first bites of some kind of liquid paste this weekend). Actually, it was mostly Jodi. She's trying to get the hang of these new devices called 'computers', as we bought a new one in January. No rest for the weary!

At night Mark & Kristi came over for dinner and a little March Madness basketball. The dinner was great; the games not so much. Some photos attached.

Weekend Update!

A quick update of Connor taking his first bites of 'mush' (technically, it might be 'gruel', but I'm no expert), which happened last Saturday afternoon. Full weekend update to follow shortly.

Connor's Cold!

Poor baby has been pretty sick this week. Chris and I have been wiping his nose and peeling more boogers off of Connor's face than we care to. The strange thing about this is that I think we feel worse about it than Connor does, as he still manages to smile for us most of the time.

Note that the first photo here is when he just woke up... I promise we don't let him hang around with that stuff on his face all day! :-)

In other news, today Connor had his first feeding of rice cereal by spoon! He had two small bowls of it, and managed to get most of it into his stomach. He's growing up! Photos tomorrow, I promise. (Today we just took video of it.)

MB's birthday!

Last Sunday was my brother Mark's 41st, er, I mean 37th birthday. We celebrated it Saturday night with a Cuban dinner at Mark & Kristi's house. Mark & Kristi were at a raffle for a local radio station last December, and one of the prizes they won was a dinner for 12, cooked by a Cuban chef in their home! It was quite a night, and Kristi took the 'Cuban' theme to the heights of... well, 'Cubanity'! ;-)

Here are some photos, and happy birthday to my big brother Mark.

Since we're such 'newbies', here are some more photos of the boy. He's quite handsome, really.

Connor and I visited our good friend Brenda yesterday (see link to Brenda & Joel's blog!), and Brenda took some great pictures of the boy!
Hi, Jodi here. Being a new mom is so great. Connor is 4 1/2 months right now, smiling a lot and being very vocal. He has had 3 colds now in the last 5 weeks. I'll thank daycare for that. He's in Cascade Christian Day Care on Monday and Friday. He loves it and as far as I can tell one lady named Debbie wants to take him home with her every day, but I won't let her. On Tuesday afternoons he goes to a babysitter who is a client from Tanaz; her name is Beth. She's an *empty nester* now so she loves having Connor. Chris picks him up there after work and has him until I get home around 9, he has him that one night a week or maybe two if Mom feels like going out with Kathy for a night. Working three days a week is a perfect balance for Connor and me.

We're blogging, baby!!

Well after much prodding, goading, and cajoling, I finally created a family blog. This is our first entry, and I'm in a hurry, so it's lame. But it's done, so there.
